Menopause-Friendly Clinics
Many people can be diagnosed and treated for perimenopause and menopause through their GP. In most cases, your GP can provide advice on symptom management, prescribe hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and support your overall health during this transition.
🩺 NHS Support
If your symptoms are more complex — for example, if HRT is not suitable or if symptoms persist despite treatment — your GP may refer you to a specialist service in secondary care.
- University Hospitals Bristol Menopause Service – NHS menopause clinic for complex cases, accessible via GP referral
🌿 Private Menopause Clinics
Some people choose to seek advice or treatment from a private menopause clinic. Below are a few services based in and around Bristol. We do not specifically endorse any of these services, but they are included for information:
- Rethink Menopause – Offers private consultations, HRT management, and personalised menopause care
- Bristol Menopause Clinic – Run by British Menopause Society specialist Hazel Hayden; offers consultations, support groups, and educational events
For a broader list of registered menopause specialists across the UK, you can use the British Menopause Society’s official search tool:
If you’re unsure where to start, speak with your GP about your symptoms and options — they are usually the first and most appropriate point of contact for menopause care.
